I’ve attended this gym for a little over a year, I chose this gym solely based off of their childcare option. The last few months they’ve experienced lack of staff and subsequently I haven’t been able to utilize my membership, on two separate occasions I came and was given a wait time of over an hour. I completely understand staffing issues, especially in the current work environment, and after speaking with two staff members was reassured they had positions filled, we’re training, and would soon be “back to normal”, I started calling first, as its a 45 minute round trip for me - of the 3 times I called ahead of time each and every time I was advised that they were still struggling with staff and childcare was limited. Paying close to $85 a month for a membership I cannot utilize I decided to cancel my membership 6 days after being charged for a full month in which I not once got to workout. I was informed I’d be charged yet another month for a total of $166 for 2 months of non-use. This is outlandish, especially from a business that prides itself on core values. I highly recommend Genesis Health Club, since switching over I’ve never had into wait for childcare they play area and staff is second to none! My only disappointment is that I didn’t find them first! The rates are competitive and the difference is remarkable! They offer a free 3 day trial, and childcare is included I genuinely urge anyone looking to try it out! We now live in a world where scammers will do anything for your money, it’s important we as consumers share our experiences and knowledge! I hope this helps you! 🙂

Just getting into weight training and the facility has a great program that tailors the weight machines to your specific skill level but also allows you to gain or add weight as you progress,They have different areas for specific types of workouts a swimming pool the facility has always been clean every time I’ve gone in there are sitting areas where members can just hang out and relax after a workout or swim,The staff has been so helpful and never seem to have any problem with helping you if you have a problem,Tandy YMCA has really stepped up there YMCA game for there members.

I've already posted on Facebook, but thought I should post on here as well since it deems appropriate. I just want to spread awareness that this place and it staff do not obtain the capacity for what it takes to refund people their money back. For starters I went there 4 months ago to get a membership I paid $89 for me and my two year old son. And immediately after I canceled the membership. Very day. They told me that they would refund me the money. 4 months later which is now still have not received the $89. I have contacted them over the situation multiple times and they have shown complete ignorance to my frustrations. So if you'd like to come here definitely don't Bank on getting a refund from them.

As a homeless musician in the city I came here cause they said they had aid for those that needed it. I came in person to speak to them about it so I could take a shower. I felt confidence when it said the y was for everybody on th door. Little did I know the positive message on the board was mocking me. The woman made me feel bad about myself then proceeded to answer the phone and start talking to someone else like I wasn't even there. Horrible disgusting place. I didn't even do anything but ask about programs. I deserve the same amount of respect as anyone else. I am personally disgusted.

The swimming pool temperature today was awfully cold! Almost every swimmer complained about it but nothing was done. I checked the temperature probe in the pool and it says 82.0 degrees! According to The United States Water Fitness Association, water temperatures for younger children and the elderly need warmer temperatures ranging from 84 to 94 degrees Fahrenheit, while a comfortable pool temperature for adults is 85 to 89 degrees. This is absolutely unacceptable. Now I’ve got a headache thanks to this icy water. *If they fix this problem in the future, I will re-rate this place.

There is a legitimate problem with men coming into the women's locker rooms. It's unacceptable. There are also quite often children in the women's locker rooms too. I don't want to listen to screaming children or men while I'm showering or changing. The showers never get warm in the winter, which really sucks after a workout. This YMCA sees a very high volume, but that's not an excuse for the mold growing in the showers.
